Work Performance Program
What It Is...
- A fully integrated approach towards management of workplace injuries.
- A comprehensive cost effective program to help minimize overall risk and maximize prevention of workplace injuries.
- Components include prevention and safety, work simulation and job specific / task testing with an Early Return to Work (ERTW) emphasis.
- Testing and assessment utilizes objective data generated through use of evidenced based research from peer reviewed published data demonstrating reliability, validity and consistency.
What does the WPP Include?
This program should be thought of as a Circle of Care revolving around the employee and high risk jobs. The Circle begins with prevention strategies and moves through rehabilitation to return to work. The following services are offered through this Circle of Care:
- Post Offer Pre-Employment Testing: a specially designed test based on the JDA testing only essential job functions and critical demands of the job.
- JDA: Job Demands Analysis: developing what a job is from its entirety in a way that complies with the law. A JDA/ PDA determines the compatibility between worker and a specific job.
- FCE / PCE: Functional Capacity Evaluations/ Physical Capacity Evaluations.
- WCP: Work Conditioning Program designed to both condition the employee and prepare them for RTW regular duty, the program is closely monitored and emphasizes work tasks simulation using the employees job description /JA as a guideline.
- Fit For Duty Testing: determining when an injured worker is ready to return to their regular duties.
- Ergonomic Assessments: Ergonomics is the scientific study of people at work. The goal of these assessments help determine potential high risk postures, positions, tasks, work stations and make appropriate recommendations for changes.
- Work Specific Rehabilitation: new focused care to drive early return to work and changes the mandate in treatment from a disease model to a functional model.
- Onsite Education: education and instruction in injury prevention through teaching, instruction in specific exercises for home and work.
